LAUNCHING CEREMONY OF KHDC- 6th July 2023
The highly anticipated Launching Ceremony of the Kebaya Heritage Design Competition (KHDC) took place on 6th July 2023 at the prestigious Laman Wau, Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC), YM Tunku Prof Dato’ Sr Dr Fauzi Ibni Almarhum YTM Tunku Seri Indera Setia Tunku Dato’ Abdul Malek Al Haj, Juita Jalil, Chief Purveyor Of All Things Fun, Fine & Fabulous and Dato Asfarena, the owner and founder of AfSM Group – Asfarena Samion Mon, Ms Wanna Ali as KHDC Ambassador 2023. The presence of His Excellencies and High Commissioners from numerous countries added an air of international importance to the occasion along with wellknown local fashion designers such as Hatta Dolmat.

The highly anticipated Launching Ceremony of the International Conference and Exhibition on World Cultures (ICWC) took place yesterday at the prestigious Panggung Sari Kompleks Kraf Kuala Lumpur. The event was graced by esteemed guests, including Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, Mrs Zubaidah Binti Mukhtar, Director-General of Istana Budaya, representing the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Mrs Zainariah Johari from Yayasan Hasanah. The presence of His Excellencies and High Commissioners from numerous countries added an air of international importance to the occasion.
ICWC 4 MAIN THRUSTS
The first thrust is to promote cultural tourism by highlighting the importance of culture as a tourism asset. This involves showcasing the unique cultural offerings of different countries and regions, and exploring ways to attract more tourists through cultural experiences.
The second thrust is to promote the preservation of cultural heritage. This involves recognizing the value of cultural heritage and taking steps to safeguard it for future generations and exploring ways to promote sustainable tourism practices that minimize the impact on cultural heritage sites.
The third thrust is to advance cultural research by promoting the study of culture and its impact on society. This involves exploring new research methods and approaches, and sharing knowledge and insights with scholars, researchers, and practitioners from around the world.
The fourth thrust is to celebrate diversity by showcasing the richness and variety of cultures around the world. This involves promoting cultural exchange and dialogue, and exploring ways to build bridges between different cultures.
